Although Outshine is a better-for-you snack alternative, it has fallen victim to the reputation that everything found in the ice cream aisle is a ‘treat’. Specifically, Wal*Mart consumers tend to shop the market perimeter, skeptical they will find healthy additions to their cart in the freezer section. We set out to develop a strong, customized shopper program for Wal*Mart to change this perception and reinforce Outshine’s better-for-you snack point of difference.
OUTsmart your snack
Our concept, “OUTsmart your Snack” is based on the idea that other healthy snacks are just, well, room temperature. With pre-store and in-store tactics, the program challenged shoppers to revisit the freezer aisle and re-think, reinvigorate and refresh their snack routines!

We challenged shoppers to OUTsmart their snack with Outshine through a promotionally driven healthy snacking quiz, digital/social engagement, special offers and trial-driving sampling. Our approach ensured that all shopper tactics worked together to produce superior results, drive trial, purchase for Outshine, and traffic for the Wal*Mart frozen category.
